At least 15 people have been killed in Kiruhura and Kazo districts in recent weeks, two MPs told Parliament on 29 September 2026. Hon. Genesio Tumuramye said five people, including a child, were killed in their homes in Kitura County. Hon. Dan Atwijukire said 10 were killed in Kazo County between 17 August and 27 September, most using hammers.
