Airtel Uganda launched a satellite-to-mobile service with Starlink on 24 September 2026 at the Kampala Marriott Hotel. Uganda becomes the second African market after DR Congo to offer the service commercially. Compatible phones can now use SMS and light data, including WhatsApp, without a satellite dish.
